Activities Especially for Kids

  • Pacific Whale Foundation for Kids: During the summer, PWF offers a day camp for kids K-5. The activities vary each year, but often include a trip to Maui Ocean Center, surf/windsurf lessons, boat cruise, hands-on science and crafts.
  • Summer Surf Camp: Maui Sports Unlimited offers 3 day surfing camps for ages 6-13. They are located right here in Kihei at Kalama Beach Park.
  • Maui Ocean Center: Hawaii’s aquarium has 60 indoor and outdoor sea life exhibits including turtle lagoon, hammerhead shark pool, sea jelly gallery and much more. They also have a tide pool where the kids can touch and play with the invertebrates. Only 10 miles north of condo.
  • Maui Golf & Sports Park: Right next door to the ocean center is a fun sports park for kids where they can enjoy bumper boats, rock climbing, miniature golf and the extreme trampoline.
  • Sugar Cane Train: Kids enjoy a 6 mile ride on a steam train. Departs from Lahaina which is a 25 mile drive North of condos. Best coupled with a day trip to Lahaina for shopping & dinner.
  • Glow-Putt: Glow in the dark miniature golf in Lahaina is fun for the entire family.

  • Wild Wheels Wentals: Offers free same day delivery of rental items such as cribs, high chairs, strollers, rollaway beds and wheelchairs. Open 24/7. Phone: 808-879-0220
  • Akamai Mother’s Rentals: Specializes in equipment rentals for children’s needs including cribs, strollers, toys, bouncers, boosters, car seats, beach chairs and more. Free delivery to Maui Vista. Phone: 808-298-1336

Charter Boats, Excursions & Cruises

Logistics

The following links may be helpful when traveling to Maui. Once you get here, follow the driving directions below to Maui Vista.

  • Airport: There is only one primary airport on Maui, Kahului Airport, which is 13 miles from our condos (28 minute drive).
    • Directions: Take 380 to 311 South to Route 31 (Pi’ilani Highway). Just before the town of Wailea, exit to a street called Alanui Ke Ali’i on the right and take it down to the ocean. Turn right (north) on South Kihei Road to the third property on the right, the Maui Vista.

  • Public Transport: Maui Public Bus Transit System provides 13 bus routes around the island seven
    days a week, including all holidays. The fare is $2.00 per boarding.

    The Upcountry and Haiku Islander routes stop at the Kahului Airport. From there, a transfer to Kihei Islander
    will bring you to Walaka Street which is a 2 minute walk to Maui Vista.

    Note: One piece of luggage is allowed per person and must fit under the passenger seat or on lap.

  • Rental Cars: Most of the major car rental companies are located at the Kahului airport in Maui. Find a short list of options below.
    If you are wanting a more affordable option look for a rental agency located offsite from the airport. Most provide free pickup and delivery at the airport.
    Note: In either case, when picking up a map, tell the car rental company that you need directions to Wailea (Kihei will be on that route).

    • No Ka Oi Motors: Offer a free shuttle van that will pick you up curbside at the airport right outside of baggage claim and take you to the office headquarters just 5 min. from the airport to pickup your vehicle.   • Airlines: Hawaiian Airlines is rated #1 for flights to Hawaii. We are providing a list of some airlines below that fly directly into Kahului in Maui. Once you are on Maui, you may wish to do some island hopping. Island Air provides inter-island flights.
